ABOUT

Boris Seewald is an award-winning video director based in Berlin, Germany.

He treats video like a visual choreography; composing and arranging images in a rhythmic manner that complements the music and sound.

Drawn to the experimental and unconventional, he uses a variety of techniques in his work, combining abstract animation and mixed media with live action footage.

Having worked in the post-production department as an >editor and >animator for 10 years, he is a multidisciplinary director with a post-processing perspective and knows when to “fix it in post."

Honoured with >numerous awards including the Cinedans Dioraphte Jury Award and the Promax Award in Gold and a nomination at the Deutsche Kamerapreis, his films are renowned for their picturesque style and musicality.

To date, he has worked with artists such as Ralf Hildenbeutel, Francesco Tristano, Sebastian Plano, Alica Sara Ott, Marama Corlett and Nemanja Radulovic, and brands including Adobe, Samsung, Huawei, Microsoft, Daimler, Real Madrid, Beyer Dynamic, Teufel, Photokina, Rosenthal, Ritter Sport, Deutsche Grammophon, Universal Music, Warner Music, Konzerthaus Berlin, Berliner Philharmoniker, Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Opéra National de Paris, Berlinische Galerie, Arte and >many more.

In his free time Boris enjoys playing music, going to the movies and taking >photos, as well as being able to share those experiences with his daughters.
